Ashley Huang
Violin
Ashley Huang is a fifteen-year-old sophomore at Lynbrook High School. She currently studies violin under Ms. Zhao Wei. This is her third year in the GSYO Senior Symphony, and she also performed in the 2022 GSYO European Tour. Ashley now serves as the co-concertmaster of the Senior Symphony this season.
Ashley is a second-time winner of the GSYO Solo Concerto Competition. She made her solo debut in 2017 with Galbraith Honor Strings conducted by Mariya Borozina, where she performed Mozart Piano Concerto No. 23.
Ashley has won numerous top prizes in several music competitions, including Silicon Valley Music Competition (2021 and 2022), Lynbrook Concerto Competition (2021), US Open Music Competition (USOMC) and US International Music Competition (USIMC). She was also selected to be part of the 2022 California All-State Orchestra (CASMEC). Aside from music competitions, Ashley has organized and performed for benefit concerts, raising over $10,000 for Environmental Defense Fund (EDF). She also volunteers to teach violin at a nonprofit organization, Notelove.
Besides music, Ashley loves writing and dancing. She has competed and won numerous awards in poetry writing and dance, including the Scholastic Gold Key award in 2021, 1st place at the 2022 Rotary Poetry Contest, and the title of Ms. Revolution at the 2022 Revolution National Dance Competition.
