Elvin Hsieh

Artistic Operations Manager

Elvin Hsieh is a classically trained violinist, music educator, and music business professional whose multifaceted career reflects a deep passion for sharing music, particularly with the next generation. From the concert stage to the classroom to artist development and marketing, he has built a broad and meaningful presence in the music industry.

Elvin began studying violin with Xiaoli Chen, later training with esteemed pedagogues including Li Lin, Chen Zhao, Varty Manouelian, Movses Pogossian, and Ian Swensen — faculty at institutions such as The Juilliard School, SFCM, and UCLA. At UCLA, he pursued Music Performance, Music Industry, and Musicology, earning the Dean’s Medal and completing his degree on a full scholarship.

As a performer, Elvin has been a featured soloist and served as concertmaster in ensembles such as the UCLA Philharmonia and the California Youth Symphony. He has performed on rare historical instruments, including a Stradivarius violin, and appeared as a soloist and orchestral musician at prestigious venues like Carnegie Hall, the Musikverein, and the Rudolfinum. He remains an active musician, performing violin and viola with Bay Area ensembles.

Elvin has also made a strong impact on music education across the Bay Area. His previous roles at MVWSD as Lead Orchestra Teacher, and teaching positions at The Harker School and CSMA have advanced his vision of inspiring young musicians. Many of his students have earned accolades in violin, viola, and theory, and perform in top youth ensembles in the state. 

Outside classical music, Elvin has worked in artist management and marketing. He has contributed to projects for top-40 artists like Gracie Abrams and held several roles at record labels focused on artist development, marketing strategy, and live event coordination. Beyond his musical pursuits, Elvin enjoys traveling and exploring new cultures, and cherishes time spent with family and friends.
