Emily Debner

Artistic Operations Manager

Emily Debner has been enamored with music from a young age. Although she began her musical journey with piano lessons, it was playing the flute in her school’s band that really hooked her, and she hasn’t stopped playing since. Originally from Michigan, Emily is a graduate of Concordia University in Ann Arbor, where she earned a BA in K-12 Music Education and served as the campus music librarian. She represented Concordia twice in the CBDNA Small College Wind Ensemble, and has participated in several flute choirs in Michigan and Indiana. In addition to playing concert flute, Emily enjoys doubling on alto and bass flutes, as well as on the saxophone.

Emily began her career as an elementary band director in Fort Wayne, Indiana. After moving to California in 2018, Emily began teaching executive functioning to students from around the Bay Area. In her spare time, she volunteers as a church musician and choir director.

When she is not working, Emily enjoys hiking, photography, and reading. She is currently working on an MFA in Creative Writing to further her artistic pursuits.
