Helen Yuan

Piano

Helen Yuan, age eighteen, is a freshman at the University of California, Los Angeles ,currently studying Data Theory. She started playing piano at age 5 and began studying with Fonny Chandra from age 10. Helen has won awards from the MTAC Piano Concerto Competition, MTAC Panel Auditions, Quebec International Music Competition, and Chopin International Piano Competition at Hartford, among others. Additionally, she has attended Vivace International Music Festival for the last two summers and has played for internationally recognized artists such as Haewon Song and Dmitri Vorobiev. Helen also played violin with GSYO throughout high school and is excited to be returning.

Outside of music, Helen enjoys crocheting, baking, and spending time with her golden retriever.
