Jade Lu

Piano, Spring Dance Concert

Jade Lu is a 16-year-old senior at Los Altos High School who has been playing piano for eight years. She is currently studying under Dr. Chia-Lin Yang, and has won various competitions including International Glory Piano Competition, Enkor International Music Competition, Young Pianists Beethoven Competition, Canada International Piano Competition, WPTA Finland International Piano Competition, US International Music Competition, MTAC Piano Concerto Competition, US Open Showcase Solo, Junior Bach Festival 2019 and 2021. Jade was a featured young musician at the Burlingame Music Club in the 2020-21 season and an award-winning violin sonata duo. She gained valuable ensemble experience at the California Music Preparatory Academy and won fellowship at the Claudette Sorel Piano Fellows Program at SUNY-Fredonia. She was also the resident pianist for her school’s orchestra. Jade is an honors student and very involved at school, where she is the editor-in-chief of the Women in STEM club’s newsletter, member of National Honors Society, project lead of Green Team club and TEDx LAHS club. Piano is one of her greatest passions, and she strives to share her love for music by tutoring autistic students in piano. Besides playing piano, Jade likes to draw and also plays tennis as a member of her school's varsity team.
