John McLaughlin

Horn, Mark Inouye Masterclass

John began playing the horn when he was eight with Daniel Wood as his teacher. John joined his first orchestra in sixth grade and has been playing with GSYO for three years. In addition to orchestral playing, John enjoys chamber music and solo performance. He has won a chamber music award as part of a woodwind quintet and two National Gold Medals in horn performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music. John has taken part in several masterclasses and has received instruction from Stefan Dohr, principal horn of the Berlin Philharmonic Orchestra. John is currently attending the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Pre-College Division, where he studies with Jessica Valeri of the San Francisco Symphony.
