Roger Guo

Spring Concert

Roger Guo, age twelve, is a student of John McCarthy. He has previously also studied with Kate Metcalf and Daniel Cheng, and performed in a masterclass for Gabriel Kwok.

In 2019, he was named the winner of first prize in the Chopin Category of the Hong Kong International Music Competition for Young Pianists. Roger has won top prizes in several categories of the 28th Annual United States Open Music Competition, and was also selected to perform at the Junior Bach Festival Concert in the spring of 2020.

In addition to the piano, Roger plays the cello, composes his own music, and enjoys painting, reading, and writing stories. He currently attends 7th grade at Crystal Springs Uplands School in Hillsborough, CA.
