Stella Koo

Viola

Violist Stella Koo, age fifteen, is a sophomore at Archbishop Mitty High School. She is a member of the GSYO Senior Symphony and is a winner of the recent GSYO Solo Competition. She has won numerous awards including the KAMSA Competition, the Silicon Valley Philharmonic Music Competition and US International Open Music Competition. She participated in the CMEA Honor Orchestra as a section leader in 2023 and 2024 and in the California All-State Junior High School Orchestra as an assistant principal in 2023. Since 2022, Stella has shared music with her community through benefit concerts with Nahnoom for Red Cross Disaster Relief, and since 2024, performed with the KAMSA Youth Symphony Orchestra. She has been studying viola with Ms. Minji Kim and Ms. Sujung Seok. Beyond music, she enjoys dancing and is actively involved in the student government at her school.
