Xinran Shi

Piano

Xinran Shi, a 9th grader at Stanford Online High School, lives in San Jose, California. She began playing piano at four and a half and currently studies with Hans Boepple. Xinran has won top prizes in many national and international piano competitions and has appeared on NPR's From The Top. As one of the 5 finalists in 2023 Hilton Head International Piano Competition, she made her orchestra debut with Hilton Head Symphony Orchestra under Maestro John Morris Russell in March 2023. She has attended various music programs such as Morningside Music Bridge, Cliburn Junior Piano Festival, PYPA Piano Festival, Vancouver Piano Sessions, etc. She appreciates the opportunities to learn with many great teachers, musicians, and pianists.

She was a 2020-2022 Young Scholar of The Lang Lang International Music Foundation. Outside of the piano, she enjoys dancing ballet, reading, swimming, and traveling.
