Senior Symphony Registration 22-23
The Senior Symphony program is GSYO's most advanced level orchestra, performing professional symphony repertoire. This award-winning ensemble is comprised of more than one hundred and twenty talented musicians from throughout the Bay Area. This orchestra studies under the baton of Yun Song Tay, GSYO Music Director, who challenges the musicians to reach a high level of achievement.
Regular rehearsals: Sunday, 3:30-6:30pm at Union Presbyterian Church, Los Altos
Monday rehearsals on three-day weekends: September 5 (Labor Day), January 16 (MLK Day), and May 29 (Memorial Day)
August Retreat: August 3-8
First Regular Rehearsal: August 21
Parent Meeting: September 11
Opener Concert: October 23
Holiday Concert: December 11
60th Anniversary Concert: April 15
Season Finale Concert: June 4
Each concert will have one dress rehearsal, which will fall on Thursday (usually) or Sat/Sun (occasionally). The full season schedule will be available in August.
Your required financial obligation will be the Tuition Fee, Retreat Fee, and Ticket Fee. We kindly request 100% parent participation at the level of your ability, for the Annual Fund Campaign.*

The tuition payment and ticket fee are due at this time.
*We expect that all of our families will make a tax-deductible donation to GSYO during the season. The Annual Fund Drive is vital part of the budget, and our goal is 100% participation. Although not required, substantive member donations are an important signal to outside funding organizations. Even a small donation of any size to GSYO during the season can make a big difference when everyone participates. In addition, we ask all families to volunteer at GSYO concerts and on GSYO teams throughout the season.
Financial Aid: It is the policy of GSYO that no student should be excluded from participation due to financial hardship. Financial Aid is need-based. If you would like to apply for financial aid, please fill out the application (included in registration forms) and make the $100 payment at this time. You must either upload a copy of your most recent Federal Tax Return or mail a copy to the GSYO Administrative Office at 4055 Fabian Way, Palo Alto, CA 94303 to complete your request.
Review the Financial obligations and read through and fill out the registration forms (see below). The forms outline the code of conduct, attendance and seating policies, health summary (proof of Covid-19 vaccination required), waivers, and financial aid (if applicable). The forms are designed to allow you to work on them, leave, and return later to continue. You do not need to create a Jotform account or sign in with email - select "Skip create account" if that is your preference.
After you submit, GSYO will invoice you for the tuition amount. The enrollment is complete when the forms and payment have been received. You should receive an email confirming receipt of your forms to the email you provided.
Seating audition music will be available to the musicians in early June.
